Materials handling plays a critical role in a process industry
such as cement, making the need for reliable, trouble free equipment
of paramount importance. The biggest issue in materials handling
continues to be searching for solutions to practical problems
expereienced in the field. BHP Engineers aim to use their engineering
skills to develop innovative solutions through new technology,
replacement and retrofit, to provide practical solutions to
the problems faced by customers.
As several greenfield and expansion projects
were undertaken, BHP Engineers, which entered the materials
handling market in the mid-1980s, have participated in the
development of material handling systems to offer solutions
to problems faced by the customer. BHP Engineers have
installed more than 600 bucket elevators all
over the country. 80% of these were installed in new plants
or for expansion projects to increase capacity, and the
remainder
were for replacement/retrofits of aged equipment.
Whatever the problem, BHP would be very happy
to share its experience and work out an optimum solution so
that you can concentrate on what is important to you: your
customer.
